This bar chart along with the table gives information about the specific amounts of materials involved in the manufacture of 1000 paper and polystyrene cups.

It is clearly shown that resources for producing disposable cups overwhelms that of polystyrene ones generally, among which wood and electricity stand out for former while steam for the latter.

In the components of 1000 polystyrene cups, the quantities of steam and other chemicals are 130 and 13 kg while they are substantially lower numbers for paper cups with only 0.56 and 8 kg.

On the other hand, the remaining four materials are applied more in the production of disposable cups. In detail, 220 kg wood and 78 kilowatts electricity could be observed and the consumption of water and petroleum (10 m3 and 18 kg) is also significant. In contrast, water and wood consumed in polystyrene products are almost negligible (0.6 and 0) and there were just 6 kilowatts electricity and 8 kg petrol used.
