The stress of balancing work and family demands is particularly acute for mothers of infants. To be sure, a month-long leave does allow birth mothers to recover from the physical demands of labour. I subscribe to the notion that it is essentially indispensable for newly mothers to take a maternity leave in the wake of their delivery.

平衡工作和家庭需求的压力对婴儿的母亲来说尤为严重。可以肯定的是,一个月的假期确实能让生育母亲从体力劳动的需求中恢复过来。我认同这样一种观念,即在她们分娩后,新妈妈们休产假是必不可少的。

The availability of one-month leave ensures women who are accountable for their child-bearing role. Experts have long proved that breastfeeding has health benefits for both babies and moms, and a newborn has a vital psychological need for mother’s attention. The attachment that forms between them is really critical, and it’s based on mom’s abilities to respond when the baby is upset If deprived of the maternity leave, it is conceivable that not only their babies cannot be taken care of, but also it weakens their family bonds.

一个月假期的可得性确保了那些对自己的孩子承担责任的女性。长期以来,专家们一直证明,母乳喂养对婴儿和母亲都有好处,而新生儿对母亲的关注有着至关重要的心理需求。在他们之间形成的依恋关系是非常重要的,这是基于母亲的能力,当孩子被剥夺了产假的时候,他们的反应是不可能的,这是可以想象的,不仅他们的孩子不能被照顾,而且还会削弱他们的家庭纽带。

In addition, newly mothers are therefore more likely to recover after production. Mothers are more likely to take a good rest and fully recover from the hardship of pregnancy and production. It is a common sense that the birth of a baby indicates the conscientious childcare from his/her mother, which leads to arduous and energy-consuming efforts.

此外,新妈妈们更有可能在生产后恢复。母亲们更有可能好好休息,从怀孕和生产的困难中完全恢复过来。婴儿的出生表明了他/她母亲的尽责照顾,这是一种常识,这导致了艰苦和耗费精力的努力。

Undoubted, there is no garden without weeds. There are some concerns for women to take maternity leave. Notwithstanding the maternity leave is not long, it is still likely to result in some issues to their companies and organizations. Worse yet, some of female employees face the risk of losing their jobs during an economic downturn.

毫无疑问,没有没有杂草的花园。有些人担心妇女休产假。尽管产假时间不长,但仍有可能给公司和组织带来一些问题。更糟糕的是,在经济低迷时期,一些女性员工面临着失去工作的风险。

To sum up, the drawbacks pale into insignificance by comparison with the merits of maternity leave. In this case, allowing female employees to take a paid leave is humane.
